Purdue Alumni wins NOGLSTP Engineer of the Year Award
Tony Gingiss, BS AAE Purdue 1990, is this years recipient of the NOGLSTP Engineer of the Year Award. Gingiss is a Systems Engineering Manager at Boeing Space and Intelligence Systems in California, where he is working on the next generation of the GPS satellite system. His team will utilize 12 space craft in addition to the 24 satellites positioned in orbit about 12,000 miles above the Earth’s surface to accomplish this task. The system Gingiss is working on is for the United States Airforce for the first Space Vehicle which is scheduled to launch at the end of 2009.
The award was presented this February at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, held in Chicago.
Robert Castor, E.I.T. was chosen by the National Engineers Week Foundation as one of the “New Faces of Engineering”. Information about Castor and the NOGLSTP nomination is located here.
